At Martin's Chair we use only the finest, select woods for our chairs. We can build furniture in solid cherry, oak and maple. By combining woods in many of our reproduction chairs, we can take full advantage of each wood's strengths. Poplar makes and excellent seat because it is easy to shape. Maple is hard and strong, ideal for turnings. Ash, hickory, and oak are pliable enough to withstand the steam bending process. We have a wide selection of beautiful finishes to choose from, including stains, paints, and our antiqued crackled finishes.
